ISM – MycoKey Workshop – Training Course 2017 – Programme

The Institute of Sciences of Food Production – National Research Council of Italy (ISPA-CNR), under the aegis of the MYCOKEY project (http://www.mycokey.eu/) and the International Society for Mycotoxicology (ISM), is hosting a one-week Workshop-Training Course from October 9-13, 2017. The course will give information about major issues associated with mycotoxin analysis and contamination along the food chain. Lectures and laboratory training will be provided on routinely used and new screening tools for rapid, robust and user-friendly analysis of mycotoxins, including validation aspects.

Practical training in the laboratory will cover most of the course and trainees will be assisted individually in the laboratory by ISPA-CNR staff expert in instrumental and immunochemical analysis of mycotoxins.

  • Lectures
    Mycotoxins/toxigenic fungi: occurrence, risks and regulation
    Overviews of traditional and rapid methods for mycotoxin detection
    LC-MS methods for multi-mycotoxin analysis, including emerging and modified mycotoxins
    Validation of rapid methods for mycotoxin analysis
  • Laboratory
    Rapid techniques for mycotoxin detection:
    – Fast-ELISA
    – FPIA (fluorescence polarization immunoassay)
    – LFD (lateral flow devices)
    – Fluorometric tests
    – LC-MS

Register

The course registration fees include a one-year subscription to the International Society for Mycotoxicology (www.mycotox-society.org), all training materials, lunches and coffee breaks whilst attending the course, social dinner. Costs of meals for dinner, travel, local transportation and accommodation are not included. Trainees will be covered by liability insurance against injuries and damages that may result from work during the training course at ISPA-CNR. Each participant should ensure accommodation on its own.

Registration is not complete until fees are paid. Payment is due by September 09, 2017. Registration after this date is only on seat-available basis.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
Substitutions are encouraged. A written notification of cancellation from attendees must be received and confirmed by the Registration Office before a refund can be issued. Registration fees, less a € 100 processing fee, will be refunded if notice is received by the Registration Office before September 09, 2017. After that date no refunds can be given. Organizer Committee may cancel or postpone the course because of insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. If the course is cancelled or postponed, the registration fees will be refunded, but the organizers are not responsible for other costs, bank charges, or expenses, including cancellation/change charges assessed by airlines or travel agencies.

Invitation letters will only be issued once your registration and payment have been completed. Invitation letters will be sent by e-mail.
